Report by Adam (Wedding Crasher) Pendlebury

All Good Things must Come to an End

Grange finally put an end to Cosmos long unbeaten run in a game

with very little match action but very much filled controversy.

There were a couple of refereeing decisions which could on

another day have gone Cosmos way and may have impacted on the result. I can only imagine the official didn’t get a good view of the tackle on Michael Black as even with my dodgy eye sight it looked reckless at very least and could on another day have resulted in a dismissal. The other decision was to ‘play on’ when the ball had gone out of play. However, in mitigation there did not appear to be a flag raised and bringing the game back was perhaps not a feasible option.

Cosmos attacking can be summed up in one line. Alex, Nathan and Goughy had half chances.

The defence was resolute for an hour and restricted Grange to half chances with Bristow again in fine form. After the opening goal Cosmos did not stick to game plan with players unilaterally changing position. This led to a lack of shape and resulted in 2 late goals.

Again there are many positives to take from the performance as for an hour Cosmos had a real go at competing but It was the more street-wise, direct play of Grange that eventually won through. I’m pretty sure both sides will be in the title hunt come what May!
