Report by Adam (Big Tackle) Pendlebury

Oh I do like to be beside the Parkside!

The Cosmos put in their best performance of the season as a much changed

team embarrassed a top 3 side.

It all started slowly with some more body-on-the-line defending from

Pendlebury and Kieran but after riding the early storm Cosmos took control.

Goffi, Eddie and the fantastic Gaz Thompson coming on early for the injured

John Mercer (on only his first start for The Cosmos) began to boss the game

as they became accustomed to the poor playing surface. Gaz and Cal out wide were terrorising the Parkside defence and Fishy in his new role up front alongside player of the month Needham was a thorn in the Golborne side.

Eddie gaveThe Cosmos a deserved lead but then felt guilty and provided an assist for the Edward Woodward. However just before the break, Needham brilliantly finished off after a nice punt down field.

The 2nd half was a joy to watch as The Cosmos dominated the game. Gouffi made some excellent bursts forward, one of which led to the 3rd goal for Fishy. Needham made it 4 with another superlative finish before Fishy scored the goal of the match from 40 yards. I have never seen him do that before, only Thommo is really capable of scoring from that distance!

All in all an excellent team performance, which Cosmos can take into the final 3 league games ahead of the Cup Final.
