Wigan Cosmos are delighted to announce the triple signings of Ste Masterson,
Daley Thompson and former Abram Skipper Gaz Weigh.

Ste is the brother of Summer signing and current Cosmos player Phil Masterson,
with both players hailing from Chorley, Lancs. Ste has impressed in a few training
sessions now and jumped at the chance of signing a Cosmos contract. A
competative hardworking player who is strong on the ball and in the tackle who
retains possession well and looks to be a great signing for the Cosmos.

Next through the door is Oldham based Daley Thompson (pictured with Dave
Eccles). You may recognise the name but he isn't the former Olympic Star!

Tommo is a former army colleague of Dave Eccles and Eddie Green and has been persuaded by Dave to try his luck in the South Lancs Counties with The Cosmos. Tommo could be just what the Cosmos has been crying out for as he can play either upfront or as a defensive midfielder, Tommo loves a tackle and nothing better than a midfield battle. His all action style is exactly what The Cosmos has been missing in the middle of the park making us harder to play against. Tommo is a born winner who loves the game and can't wait to get started and pull on the famous blue and white hooped shirt.

Last but certainly not least is former Abram Skipper Gaz Weigh, the highly rated and much sought after Weigh is highly regarded within the South Lancs League and who from the age of 21 has Captained the mighty and hugely successful Abram side to every trophy in the South Lancs League along with being Sunday Trophy Finalists. Gaz is an all rounder who can play in both full back positions, as a central defender, sweeper and also in midfield, described by former team mates as being one of the best players on his day that has graced the South Lancs Premier Division, ultra fit, he will certainly give Cal a run for his money. Gaz is a natural leader of men and has bags of experiance at the top level and will certainly improve The Cosmos side no end, Gaz will link up with other former Abram players and current Cosmos Vice Captain Andrew Bristow and current Cosmos Captain Cal Jones. Gaz will also be linking up with former Accies adversaries Adam Pendlebury, Mike Black, Mark Fort, Paul Vanenberg, Chris Needham, Chris Curran and Danny Lund and i'm sure all the lads will be grateful to be finally on the same side.

Gaz along with Ste and Tommo are real quality additions to the current Cosmos side and we are delighted that all three have decided to join us and it not only signals our intent to progress up the league in the future but also to really crack on this term and finish this season strongly, with the prospect of a decent cup run with us facing Horwich St Mary's in a cup quarter final in 2 weeks time.

So may i take this oppurtunity to welcome all 3 players to the club on behalf of the management team, committee and of course the players and wish all three the best of luck in a Cosmos shirt and help the club in achieving our potential as all 3 players are a real coup for the club and will undoubtably add real hunger and competition for places.

We're delighted to announce Paul Kilgannon has returned to training following a long injury lay off and that it's only a matter of time before Mark Fort also returns to active playing duty following work commitments.

Both players have been hugely missed and it in itself will be like adding 2 new quality additions to the squad as both players are Vice Captains of the club and have been missed massively both on and off the pitch this this season.

Both players are desperate to get back playing and I'm sure you'll agree that it'll be great to have them both back in the fold and up for first team selection again.
